About

Keep your eyes on the water.

Driftline started with a simple idea: a sunglass strap built to last — not the kind that cracks and fades after a season on the water. It's made under Oliver Dean American Goods, out of a small Wyoming workshop where every strap is still cut, stitched, and finished by hand.

The Leather

  • 'Milled' Traditional Harness - Deer Embossed: A modification of the standard traditional harness leather, the milled traditional harness leather utilizes the same unique blend of waxes, oils and tallows, which are hot stuffed into the leather to bring out the true beauty of the leather and its grain. However, upon completion the top grain is embossed with a deer print. It then enters a milling process in which the leather is tumbled in large drums which accentuates the deer embossing giving the leather a beautifully textured grain.
  • Wickett & Craig "Traditional Harness" Leather is among the highest end vegetable tanned leathers in the world. Crafted in the USA, Wickett & Craig is known for quality, durability, and rich finishes.

The Craft

Small batch. No shortcuts. No mass production. Each strap is hand-cut and hand-stitched, finished with powder-coated brass hardware in a black finish, and fitted with rubber ends built to grip and hold under real use — on the boat, on the trail, in the truck

The Place

Wyoming's high desert and its water are never far from how these straps get made. That's where the name comes from, and it's the standard every strap gets held to before it leaves the shop: built for actual use, not just a shelf.

On the River

Whether it's a dawn cast on the river or an afternoon on the lake, the strap goes where the gear goes: flies, tippet, forceps, and a pair of sunglasses that stay put no matter how many times you crouch to net a fish.

Keep Your Eyes on the Water

Every strap is made to be used, not shelved. Small batch, hand-finished, built to outlast the trip — that's the whole promise.
